Construction of our magazine advert

My group and I sketched different drafts of our magazine advert,  audience then voted which one they liked the best (which is shown in my research and planning). From this we also gained some constructive criticism, for example, plan our colour scheme. We then went away and built and developed on our magazine advert. We researched what sort of poses girl groups took and the camera angles.

First Draft

Second Draft

Next, we had to create our magazine advert using Photoshop. My group and I had gained allot of knowledge on how to use software like Photoshop, iMovie and Final Cut, be creating our magazine turned out to be harder than we thought. The final idea we had drawn did not look as good when created on Photoshop, so we got audience feedback in order to improve it. Some members of our target audience wrote down their suggestion on improvements and we decided  to show you what they said by using Voki, online cartoon characters that represent them.

Third Draft

Audience Feedback

From this audience feedback we realised that although it looked like a great idea on paper, it did not work out as well in reality. We also found that it did not appeal to our target audience as they found it to be plain and unprofessional  However they did say that we followed the conventions of magazine adverts by including contemporary technologies such as QR codes and Twitter, also for using language such as Out Now and having the group as the main focus. They also like the fact that we wrote Brown Eyes in brown and in italics.

We took in all the positive and negative comments to create a new magazine advert. We decided to have our chosen picture to be the ultimate focus of our advert and all of the appropriate information, such as website addresses, would be placed as layers on top of the actual picture. Here it is below:

Final Product

Audience Feedback

Here is our audience feedback on our first draft. Overall everyone liked our idea and the picture chosen as it followed conventions of the RnB genre and it also appealed to our target audience.

Audience Research

Here is our audience feedback for our magazine advert. We constructed this audience feedback on survey monkey. We used this website because we thought that we would be able to get more genuine feedback from different members of our target audience if they did not see who we were.

From this feedback we can see that our target audience really liked our magazine advert and they thought that it would match the genre of RnB.

However as we have made our magazine advert landscape we have been told to make our advert portrait, so we have to make our final draft portrait
